Consequential System Register setup & maintenance
Find the AI systems that can actually hurt your business — and govern them first.
A register of the AI systems whose decisions affect people, money or records, ranked by consequence, so governance effort goes where the risk really is.
Methodology stage: Governance Architecture
“Which of your AI tools could cause real harm if they got it wrong?”
The problem
Not every AI tool deserves the same attention
- Inventories list every tool equally, so the risky ones get lost.
- Systems that affect customers, candidates or payments are rarely flagged.
- Without ranking, governance budgets are spread too thin to matter.
What you get
Deliverables
Consequential system register
Every in-scope system recorded with its impact and owner.
Consequence rating
Each system rated on who and what it affects, and how badly.
Priority action list
Which systems need controls first, and which can wait.
Review schedule
When each system is re-rated as it changes.
How it works
Four steps
- 1
Discover
We identify AI systems across teams, including the informal ones.
- 2
Assess
We rate each system's consequences for people, money and records.
- 3
Rank
We prioritise systems so the highest-impact ones are governed first.
- 4
Maintain
We set a review rhythm, with optional monthly oversight.

fixed fee one-off setup, sized to systems in scope · maintenance £295/mo, quarterly reviews included
Best for: Businesses where software takes actions rather than only storing data — automations, agents, integrations and scoring tools that approve, reject, price, pay, send or delete.

How is this different from the AI register in the platform?
The platform register records the AI tools your business uses. A Consequential System Register records the systems that can act with consequences — including automations and integrations with no AI in them — with consequence level, owner and check schedule attached. Most businesses find the second list is shorter than they feared and longer than they expected.
We already mapped some of this — do we pay to rebuild it?
No. Where your existing mapping covers a system, we formalise and classify it rather than start again. That is why setup starts at £1,250 rather than the higher fee charged for the wider ownership review.
Who should be named as owner?
Someone who can actually stop the system, not whoever bought it. In most SMEs that is an operations or departmental lead. We help you agree owners during the build and re-confirm them at every quarterly review.
Do you need access to our systems?
No admin or production access is required. We work from configuration screens, workflow exports and short conversations with the people who set things up.
What happens when a system changes?
Maintenance covers it. Material changes — new actions, new data, new permissions — trigger a re-classification and an updated register version, so the record tracks the change instead of quietly drifting from it.
