Founding client offer

Two organisations · the full Diagnostic at £495

Trestano is new, and its first engagements are being taken now. Two organisations can have the complete AI Governance & Readiness Diagnostic™ — everything listed above, nothing trimmed — for £495 instead of £995.

In return we ask for two things:

  • Permission to name your organisation and publish the result as a short, factual case study.
  • A short conversation afterwards about what the Diagnostic was like to run.

You see the write-up before anything goes out, and nothing is published that you haven't agreed.

What it measures

Five dimensions, scored independently — because being strong in one doesn't compensate for being blind in another.

Organisational capability

Whether the people, policies and accountability exist to oversee AI — or whether tools are being adopted faster than control.

System visibility

How well you actually know the AI your teams use: what it touches, where it decides, and who signed off on it.

Governance architecture

Whether ownership, controls and decision rights are defined — or improvised tool by tool.

Operational controls

Whether governance runs day to day: approvals before deployment, monitoring after it, evidence when someone asks.

Certification readiness

How close you are to ISO/IEC 42001 alignment — the gap between working practice and audit-ready documentation.

Common Findings

Most organisations discover:

  • No AI inventory
  • Unclear ownership
  • Limited operational controls
  • Weak evidence collection
  • Certification gaps

The Diagnostic shows which of these apply to you — and what to fix first.

How it works

01

Structured questionnaire

A guided set of questions — 20–30 minutes, no jargon — covering the AI your teams use, who owns it, and what evidence already exists.

02

Scoring against the Trestano model

Your answers are scored across the five governance dimensions, from AI readiness through to certification readiness.

03

Maturity profile

You receive a clear maturity level per dimension, with plain-English explanations of what each score means in practice.

04

Prioritised action plan

A short, sequenced list of what to fix first — mapped to the Trestano services that close each gap, so you can act immediately or bring us in.

Maturity levels

Each dimension is scored against five levels. Most UK SMEs sit at Level 1 or 2 — the point of the diagnostic is to know exactly where, and what moves you up.

  1. Level 1 — Unmanaged

AI tools are in use but unrecorded, unowned and ungoverned. Nobody can say, with evidence, what AI the business relies on.

  2. Level 2 — Aware

AI use is visible to someone, and there may be a policy on a shelf — but accountability, controls and evidence are inconsistent.

  3. Level 3 — Defined

Ownership, policies and controls are documented and agreed. Governance exists on paper and mostly in practice.

  4. Level 4 — Operational

Governance runs as a routine: tools are approved before deployment, monitored after it, and decisions are evidenced.

  5. Level 5 — Certified-ready

Governance is systematic and audit-ready, aligned to ISO/IEC 42001. External assessors and customers can be shown evidence, not assurances.

Deliverables

Everything you receive is written to be shared — with your board, your customers, or an auditor.

  • Governance maturity profile

A score and maturity level for each of the five dimensions, with plain-English commentary on what each means for your business.

  • Gap analysis

Where you stand today against where your sector, customers and regulators expect you to stand — stated without padding.

  • Prioritised action plan

A sequenced roadmap: what to fix first, why, and roughly what each step involves.

  • Mapped service recommendations

Each gap mapped to the Trestano service or bundle that closes it — so you can act yourself or engage us, with clear fees up front.

Sample readiness scorecard

Your organisation is scored across the five AI readiness domains — Strategy, Leadership, Skills, Data and Technology — with evidence recorded against each. Here is an example of the scoring summary.

Sample executive dashboard

The diagnostic rolls up into a one-page Board Executive Summary — an executive dashboard your leadership can read at a glance. Here is an example of the format.

Sample governance heatmap

Findings are summarised on a red / amber / green heatmap across the governance domains — so leadership can see strengths and exposure at a glance. Here is an example of the format.

Example governance heatmap — a table with rows for Data Governance, AI Governance, Security, Monitoring, Human Oversight, Compliance and Assurance, each showing a red, amber or green status colour alongside evidence notes, with a red / amber / green legend from high risk or immature to strong or mature

Sample radar chart

Assessment results are plotted on a radar chart that compares your current state against a target state across the eight governance and readiness dimensions — Strategy, Readiness, Governance, Risk, Security, Operations, Assurance and more. Here is an example of the format.

Example radar chart — an eight-axis web plotting current and target maturity across the governance and readiness dimensions of Strategy, Readiness, Governance, Risk, Security, Operations, Assurance and Certification, with a current versus target legend and a notes panel
