AI Internal Audit & Performance Evaluation
An audit that finds nothing has found nothing. We run structured internal audits of your AI management system, build the monitoring that shows whether controls actually work, and prepare the management review pack that turns findings into decisions — eliminating the tick-box audits that are a major weakness in most organisations.
AI Internal Audit & Performance Evaluation pricing
Choose the level that fits your organisation. Starter is £249 for a single-area internal audit; Pro is £799 for a full AIMS audit plus management review pack. A quarterly monitoring dashboard is available as a £99 add-on. These are service options, separate from the Trestano Starter and Pro software plans.
Best for: Businesses needing independent oversight of their AI governance without hiring external auditors.
AI Internal Audit & Performance Evaluation includes
- Structured internal audits against your AI management system's own criteria
- Findings written as actions with owners and due dates, not just observations
- Performance monitoring of AI controls: what is being measured, and what good looks like
- Management review pack: inputs, outputs and decisions ready for leadership sign-off
- Audit evidence trail you can show certification bodies, clients and insurers
Choose your level
Both options give you independent, structured oversight. The difference is one area in depth or the whole system in one pass.
- Starter — £249: a single-area internal audit, examining one part of your AI governance in depth with findings and recommended actions.
- Pro — £799: a full AIMS audit plus management review pack, covering the whole system and producing the evidence pack for leadership review.
- Quarterly monitoring dashboard — £99 add-on: an ongoing view of control performance, so drift is caught between audits rather than at the next one.
Why tick-box audits are the weakness auditors look for
ISO/IEC 42001 does not just expect an internal audit — it expects performance evaluation: monitoring, measurement, analysis and management review feeding real decisions. The most common audit failure is not a missing document; it is a programme where findings repeat year after year because nobody was accountable for acting on them.
What you receive
An audit report whose findings come with owners and due dates, a monitoring approach that shows whether controls still work between audits, and a management review pack your leadership can actually sign off — creating the closed loop certification bodies expect.
Common questions
Is the service Pro option the same as a Pro software subscription?
No. Starter and Pro here describe the level of this one-off service, not your Trestano software plan. You can enquire about either option on any plan.
Are you independent enough to audit our own governance work?
Yes. If your AIMS was built with our other services, we audit against the documented criteria the same way an external auditor would — and we tell you plainly where it falls short. Independence is the point of the exercise.
What does the quarterly monitoring dashboard cover?
The £99 add-on is a recurring quarterly view of how your AI controls are performing: incidents, drift, approval volumes and open findings. It makes problems visible between audits instead of at the next one.
How does this connect to the other ISO/IEC 42001 services?
It closes the loop: scope definition establishes what is governed, risk assessment establishes how systems are treated, operational controls establish what happens before go-live, and internal audit verifies the whole thing still works — feeding management review, as the standard expects.
Not sure which you need?
Run the free AI register first — it takes about ten minutes and usually makes the answer obvious. Or tell us what you're dealing with and we'll point you at the right thing.
Not legal advice. Trestano provides governance tooling, documentation and practical guidance. It isn't a substitute for advice from a qualified solicitor or your own compliance team.
