AI Competence, Training & Governance Resourcing
Governance fails when nobody is trained to run it. We make sure your teams have the competence, awareness and resources to manage AI safely — with training modules, defined roles and a resourcing plan you can point to.
AI Competence, Training & Governance Resourcing pricing
Choose the level that fits your organisation. Starter is £99 for AI awareness training; Pro is £299 for the competence framework plus role definitions. A governance resourcing plan is available as a £79 add-on. These are service options, separate from the Trestano Starter and Pro software plans.
Best for: SMEs needing practical, accessible AI training without consultancy overheads, and anyone whose audit trail shows no trained people assigned.
AI Competence, Training & Governance Resourcing includes
- AI awareness training modules for the whole team, accessible without prior governance knowledge
- A competence framework mapping who needs which skills and at what depth
- Role definitions for the people who run AI governance day to day
- A governance resourcing plan covering time, budget and responsibilities
- A training record that evidences competence for clients, insurers and auditors
Choose your level
Both options build the competence your governance depends on. The difference is whether role definitions and the supporting framework come with it.
- Starter — £99: AI awareness training, giving your whole team a shared, practical understanding of safe AI use.
- Pro — £299: the competence framework plus role definitions, so the right people hold the right skills at the right depth.
- Governance resourcing plan — £79 add-on: a written plan for the time, budget and responsibilities governance needs to keep running.
Why 'no trained people assigned' fails audits
Competence is one of the most common ISO/IEC 42001 findings: governance exists on paper, but nobody has been trained to operate it. We document who is trained, in what, and how competence is maintained — turning a recurring weakness into evidenced practice.
What you receive
Training modules your team can actually complete, role definitions naming who is responsible for what, and a resourcing plan leadership has signed off — everything recorded so you can evidence competence when it is asked for.
Common questions
Is the service Pro option the same as a Pro software subscription?
No. Starter and Pro here describe the level of this one-off service, not your Trestano software plan. You can enquire about either option on any plan.
Do we need any prior AI or governance knowledge?
No. The training is designed for SME teams of mixed backgrounds — practical, plain English and focused on how people actually use AI at work rather than on regulation theory.
What does the governance resourcing plan cover?
The £79 add-on sets out what running your governance actually takes: whose time it consumes, what budget it needs and which responsibilities are ongoing. It is the document leadership approves so the work has a home.
How does this connect to the other ISO/IEC 42001 services?
They pair naturally: scope definition establishes what is governed, risk assessment establishes how systems are treated, and competence ensures trained people are assigned to run it. Together they cover the most common audit findings.
Not sure which you need?
Run the free AI register first — it takes about ten minutes and usually makes the answer obvious. Or tell us what you're dealing with and we'll point you at the right thing.
Not legal advice. Trestano provides governance tooling, documentation and practical guidance. It isn't a substitute for advice from a qualified solicitor or your own compliance team.
